Inspiration

The time leading up to a bride’s wedding day can be stressful. Aside from stressful it can be exhausting, draining, and just seem downright impossible. That’s why wedding planners are here. Wedding planners don't just act as a planner but also as a therapist, accountant, designer, and full on adviser. This is why you should find someone who is passionate and inspired to make your wedding day the best day of your life.

What inspires me most about being a wedding planner is the people. One main reason I decided to go into this business was to make a bride’s dream become a reality. I want to take that image inside a bride’s head and bring it to life. Everything they wished for from the venue, the flowers, the music. Having it all come together and seeing the smile on everyone’s face is one of the best feelings in the world. The smiles are what makes this job so rewarding and worth any stress that may come with it.

The little things. The little things are what make being a wedding planner so fun. I love the details of the flowers and making sure the colors and the way they look are just right. The music, making sure the songs that play fit the theme of the wedding, fit the couple’s personality style while also keeping in mind your guests and just overall make everyone happy. The activities for the guests. Making sure the guests have an equally as enchanting night as the couple and have the most up to date trends and activities for them. Putting together those extra special touches and creating that wow factor that just surprises everyone. It’s all these little things and more put together that make the most magical evening.

Working with different people and vendors is something that always makes me thrilled. Partnering with someone who is just as passionate about what they do such as photography or catering and coming together to create a wonderful event is such a rewarding experience to have. You can end up building such strong relationships with your vendors at an event and they deliver the best service they can possibly give to not only you as the planner but to the couple as well.

FAQ's

Why you should invest in a wedding planner?

REASON #1

A Wedding Planner can help you avoid costly mistakes and negotiate deals with your suppliers. We know what should and shouldn’t be in contracts and we know how much things should cost. The amount of wedding suppliers out there is daunting and it’s our job to know who can give you the best prices and the best results.

REASON #2

We already know the best suppliers in the industry to go to plus we can do searches and checks with all of your chosen suppliers that you have in mind/booked already. We only deal with the most trusted and professional companies as we have to look after our own reputation too.

REASON #3

We will create all the schedules for the run up to the wedding and the timeline of the main event itself which we make sure everyone sticks to. We organise every supplier and liaise with them every step of the way so everything is streamlined and everything runs on time.

REASON #4

All Wedding Planners love lists! Budgets, timelines, guest lists, spreadsheets you name it, we have a template for it and it will cover every detail you can imagine plus lots that you won’t have even thought of! We have lists of questions for each supplier so that you know you are hiring the very best and we even have that all important list for the Photographer so they can get great shots of every important detail throughout the day.

REASON #5

We can make even the most luxurious and stunning Pinterest board come to life within your budget.

REASON #6

Wedding Planners are all about perfection. It takes a long time and a lot of hard work to organise the perfect wedding and we think of all the extra little details that usually get overlooked. We bring couples ideas to life, we make the impossible possible and we don’t even break a sweat!

REASON #7

Surprisingly a big part of our job is negotiation and mediation between family members and friends. Weddings bring out the best and sadly the worst in people. Jealousy, trust issues, estranged family members, crazy mother in laws (MIL) we’ve seen it all. Which is a good thing as we know how to diffuse troublesome situations and help the engaged couple deal with the emotional crap that is sometimes thrown at them. No it’s not fair but emotions will be running high and sometimes it’s great to have a professional come in and make everyone take a step back and get a different perspective.

REASON #8

Hiring a wedding planner is like having your very own PA in the world of weddings. You can have us help you as much as you want, whether it’s for a design consultation, budget planning, wedding day coordination or our full planning packages. If budget allows we can even duplicate your diary and make all of your appointments/meetings/lunches/waxing/spa breaks, you name it, we can help.

REASON #9

Booking a venue with an onsite coordinator is great and very helpful. But remember that’s all they are allowed to do and usually all they can do. They come as part of your wedding package and help you with any questions you have about the venue and types of suppliers you are allowed there. They will usually give you a list of recommended suppliers which can be great as they’ve worked with them before, but be wary as sometimes the venue receives commission from these companies if you hire them, so they might not be the best choice for your wedding. If you haven’t hired a Wedding Planner you will need to do research on these listed companies.

REASON #10

Having a Wedding Planner helping you means you have more time to enjoy your engagement. No-one wants to be sat at their laptop at 2 in the morning searching 500 local Photographers and wondering when everything will feel fun and magical again. You don’t need to shed tears over the seating plan whilst your fiance is trying to sneak out the door to his mates/pub/quiet corner somewhere. You get one lucky chance to experience this magical and wonderful time in your life, make it fun, happy and stress free!

Do I really need a day-of wedding coordinator?

Having a wedding day co-ordinator on hand to deal with any issues, direct suppliers, and take over any last minute set up will allow you to relax and enjoy the day. There are many reasons to book a wedding day

coordinator and many different types of venues where having one will be an asset!

Wedding coordinator vs. venue coordinator: the differences between the two

The roles of venue coordinators and wedding coordinators are so often able to come together and work towards the common goal of having a successful event for the client.

For example, while the venue coordinator is able to focus on making sure the first course of the dinner service and staffing is coming together and staying on time, the wedding coordinator is able to work with the photographer, film team and DJ/band to coordinate your introductions, First Dance and toasts.

While the venue coordinator is overseeing the big picture setup with tables, chairs and linens, the wedding coordinator is able to focus on the more personal details like the place cards, favours and table numbers.

When a wedding coordinator is on board, venue coordinators can focus 100% on their roles with the venue and not try to be in a million places at once. They don’t need to worry about making sure your Dad is in the room and ready to give his toast. They don’t need to place your change of shoes under your table and help you switch them when the time comes. And they don’t need to think about snagging your bouquet after your Grand Entrance so you can seamlessly transition into your First Dance.

Hire a Wedding Planner If...

  • You have the budget for it.

  • You want the least possible amount of wedding-related stress.

  • You have no free time.

  • You have no clue where to start when it comes to planning, and your organisational skills aren't the greatest.

  • You have a very short time frame for planning.

  • You're throwing a destination wedding and/or a wedding weekend involving multiple events.

  • You're hosting your wedding in an unusual space (read: not a hotel, restaurant, or banquet hall).

Hire a Wedding Coordinator If...

  • You want to play an active role in planning your wedding but would like someone to take care of the last-minute details and make sure you haven't missed anything.

  • You're extremely organised and detail-oriented.

  • You don't have the budget for a full-service wedding planner.

What is a Wedding Designer?

A wedding designer's role is purely aesthetic and doesn't include things like contract negotiations or attending appointments alongside the bride. We specialise in design, consulting on everything from floor plans and lighting design to the flowers, furniture, linens, and attire.

Always Put Someone in Charge of Day-Of Tasks!

Someone—not you—needs to make sure the wedding day itself runs smoothly and that everything you've planned is executed properly. But, what if a professional wedding planner is not in your budget? While most venue coordinators and catering managers are happy to handle basic on-site logistics and simple setups—like arranging escort cards on a table or placing menu cards at each place setting—keep in mind that their allegiance ultimately is to their employer, not you (meaning they're making sure the food is served on time, not that the DJ is playing the right songs or that there are enough pens for the guestbook).

It would be unfair to expect your vendors to handle tasks they weren't hired for, but it's helpful to tell them that you don't have a planner and won't be securing one. The most professional people certainly will do as much as they can for you.

The best option is to ask a responsible, trusted friend to handle a few important tasks, like managing the timeline or handling any issues that arise with vendors. Be sure to thank the person with a gift card to a store that they like. But, you have to be really understanding that this is not the person's profession—don't expect everything to be perfect.
